Not A Hoax

Most Republicans seem to be marching to a lunatic drumbeat that tells them credible science should not be accepted when it challenges cherished beliefs.

It is perhaps understandable that politicians from the oil-drenched states of Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana keep denying that human activity causes global warming and climate change at great risk to the health and well-being of  life in many areas of the world. The billionaires of oil and related industries have the wealth
to promote the notion that global warming is a hoax.

But consider this: the population of Planet Earth has more than doubled, growing from 3 to 7 billion in the
past 50 years. They're all burning carbon fuels in a great variety of ways, gassing up the atmosphere and creating a giant greenhouse effect . The polar ice caps are melting and raising sea levels, storms are increasing in intensity, and the world's best scientists warn us about the dangers.
